During the day I work as an engineer in industrial automation. In the afternoons and on the weekends we escape into the mountains to hike, climb, ski, and explore. Usually I lug around too much camera gear in an often-failed attempt to capture the beauty of the places we find ourselves.

I competed in my first robotics competition at 10 years old. It was an informal FIRST Lego League competition put on over the summer at my elementary school, and, even though it took me another year to win a competition, I was still hooked for life. Since then I've known my career would center either around robotics or my existing enthusiasm for cars. Since then I've helped to start and then subsequently captained a FIRST Robotics Competition Team at my high school, worked on a NASA Space Grant rover, and built dozens of small robots on my own time.
